On January 6, 1999, at the age of 14, rebels came and attacked our compound. Nobody couldn’t run they surround the entire area of the compound. The moment they entered the house the moment they started shooting guns and holding people. After being gathered together, they lined us up and  started chopping off our limbs. On this day, the rebels chopped off my left  hand and almost right hand. They left me there to die. Three days  lying there bleeding to death.  On the fourth day God woke me up and  strengthened me to walk for 30 miles to get help.  Where I was taken  to a government hospital in Freetown. I spent two months at the hospital. After the treatment, MSF discharged me and brought me to an amputee camp located at the west end of Freetown. The place was called Aberdeen Road camp. where i was joined by mother and my brothers . Life wasn’t easy for us. Many of us were left to depend on WFP for food.

On September 2000, my life was changed. Six children from the camp, including myself were chosen from the amputee camp to travel to the U.S to receive medical treatment and be fitted with prosthetics. After the treatment, a wonderful family in Michigan adopted me. I was adopted at the age of 17. Since I came to the U.S, it has been my dream to go back to my home country Sierra Leone West Africa and help the youth of my age. On April 27, 2016, I returned home to visit my mother and my brothers in Sierra Leone. The visit was a good visit. I met a lot of talented underground artists and  youths my age,  want to pursue music and filming.  Many of them lost their hands and legs during the 11 years civil war. In Sierra Leone when you are disable, many people consider you useless. My desire is to help the young people in my country. Many of whom are on the street begging for food and housing.  Upon my return to the U.S I met my husband  who  is knowledgeable in music and film. . My desire is to build a music and filming studio in Sierra Leone. Please join us  to help these young women and men their dreams to come manifestation. Thank you for your generosity giving
